  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Alexander Berry (1781-1873) in partnership with Edward Wollstonecraft (1783-1832) acquired land grants on the Shoalhaven, NSW, in 1822. Wollstonecraft also owned property on the North Shore of Sydney. Wollstonecraft died in 1832 leaving his estate to his sister Elizabeth, wife of Alexander Berry. Elizabeth Berry died in 1845 and her property passed to her husband Alexander. Alexander Berry died in 1873 leaving his property to his brother David Berry who also inherited from his brothers John (d.1848) and William (d.1875). When David Berry died in 1889 his estate passed to his cousin Sir John Hay.
