  • Scope and Content
    I. Makinson and d'Apice, deed register. Xerox copy (MLMSS 1440/1).

    II. Clients' documents, 1801-1962 (MLMSS 1440/1-56).
    Mainly concerning conveyancing in New South Wales, the documents are arranged in groups as kept by Makinson and d'Apice, i.e. in an alphabetical sequence, followed by miscellaneous bundles. Included i.a. are papers of the following: Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, papers re legal affairs and commercial activities of John Bede Polding, Roger Bede Vaughan, Patrick Francis Moran and Michael Kelly, 1841-1903; Edward Butler, 1845-1879; Alfred Cheeke, 1870-1888. Henry Copeland, 1900-1902; estate of Sir William John Macleay, 1851-1904; Sir William Montagu Manning, 1857; estate of William Bede Dalley, 1867-1904; John Hubert Plunkett, 1831-1863.

    III. Miscellaneous documents, c.1873-c.1947 (MLMSS 1440/57-65).
    Box 65 includes Index to wills, c.1873-c.1947 and two passbooks of Eyre Goulburn Ellis, 1889-1892.
