James Porter arrived at Sydney, 10 August 1815, as captain of the ship Hebe. He later served on the Sesostris. The Porter and Pines families became related through the marriage of Eleanor Martin, daughter of Martha Martin, nee Porter, and Frederick Pines - Scope and ContentI. Correspondence, 1815-1822. A. Letterbook, 1815-1822, being mainly reports to Messrs. Staniforth and Blunt, London, re shipping activities on board the Hebe, 1815-1819 and on board the Sesostris, 1820-1821, including 2 letters written from Sydney, 1815.
