    The Hobart Town Gazette, No. 746, Sept. 10, 1830
    Includes statement by John Burnett, Colonial Secretary, issued on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor, requesting that members of the public assist the Military and Police in "either capturing the whole of the hostile tribes, or of permanently expelling them from the settled Districts".
    CORRESPONDENCE AND NOTES
    Notes by Thomas Scott on the plan to use the police and military to find Tasmanian Aborigines. Includes names of people in search party (commenced Oct. 1830), arrangements of the various divisions of troops, and geographical areas targeted.
    10 Sep. - 30 Nov., 25 Dec. 1830, 16 Mar. - 6 Apr. 1831; Papers comprise correspondence received by Thomas Scott in his capacity as Assistant Surveyor including letters from Charles Arthur (on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor, Colonel George Arthur) and G. Frankland; requests for assistance to officers and police magistrates; memoranda for arranging the Forces on the North side of the Island [itemisation of forces and location] and for the advancement of troops; Major Douglas and James Russ regarding comfort and provisions; constable and civilian reports; survey of and alterations to "the line"; and Scott's notes on the ordering and despatch of provisions.
