    Matthew Forster, born in Scotland, was a soldier and public servant.   • Scope and Content
    Letters and accounts collected by Calder that pertain to the eradication of snakes in the areas of Brighton, Bothwell, Longford, Norfolk Plains, Hamilton, Richmond, and others in Tasmania. Many letters and accounts originate from the Police Offices concerned, are addressed to the Chief Police Magistrate (Hobart Town), and some are signed by "J. Roper", "W. Moriartz", and "J. Whiteford".
