Mary Knaggs was the second of three Australian scholars who won the Caroline Simpson Scholarship to study under the Prince of Wales's School of Architecture in London (now the Prince's Foundation). - Scope and ContentThesis submitted for the degree of Master of Philosophy, University of Wales. A study of the development of urban design in colonial Australia. The author discusses many early towns in NSW including Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle. Tasmanian towns include Georgetown and Launceston, with particular emphasis on the village of Richmond.
