  • Scope and Content
    Emily is seated and holds a pair of sewing or embroidery scissors in her right hand. Her apparel comprises a mauve-coloured silk dress, with wide neckline above a tucked bodice with revers, placed either side of centre front to form a V-shape and trimmed with three rows of applied black braid, above a fitted waist and full, gathered skirt. The bodice has cap sleeves trimmed with two ruffles, each edged with three rows of applied braid. The edge of a chemise undergarment shows at the neckline.
