Records relating to a British survey of the postal services of the Australian colonies and New Zealand. Contains : 1. Appendices to Post Office Commission of Enquiry Reports, 1841-47 for Van Diemen's Land, N.S.W., S.A., New Zealand and W.A. 2. Select committee of Legislative Council of N.S.W. postal regulations, 1843-4. 3. Post Office Commission of Enquiry Reports, 1845-7. The reports summarize the history of postal services in the particular colony, as well as current staffing and administration, postal routes, revenue, expenditure and numbers of letters sent and received. The appendices include lists of post offices and other returns, specimen forms, and local ordinances
