John Campbell, a miller, (born Scotland 1831) married Charlotte Edwards (born Wales 1838) in Sligo, Northern Ireland in 1855. On 7 November 1878 they left Ballymena, Northern Ireland with their surviving children Elizabeth, Robert, William, George, Christina and John, and on 27 November sailed from Plymouth on the immigrant ship 'Blair Athol' arriving in Sydney on 4 March 1879. The family had a farm, 'Leven Grove' at Geurie near Dubbo. Elizabeth Campbell married Frederick James Thorby in 1883.
