  • Scope and Content
    Included in the collection are portraits of members of the Scott and Townsend families, and portraits of friends or associates of the Scott family. Also included are photographs of the Parsonage church at Avoca, Victoria, and "Holmwood" residence at East Maitland.
    1. [Rose Selwyn?, nee Rusden, wife of Dean Selwyn, 1865] / J.T. Gorus, Sydney. Inscribed: 'March / 67 - Newcastle - taken 1865' with note by Rose Scott Cowen, "I think this a sister of G-ma Scotts who married Dean Selwyn of Newcastle".

    The photographs are by a number of different photographers, and most have the photographer's name printed on the reverse. Many are inscribed on the reverse with the date and sitter's identity or title. Some notes are in the hand of Mrs Rose Scott Cowen.
