  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Reginald Francis John Coady (1918-1977), parliamentarian and clerk, was born at Forest Lodge, Sydney son of John Patrick Coady and his wife Annie Maria. He was educated at Patrician Brothers Forest Lodge and completed a commercial course at business college. He was a councillor of the Federated Clerks' Union and a delegate to the Trades and Labour Council and the ACTU. In 1954 Coady was elected to the NSW Legislative Assembly as ALP member for the seat of Leichhardt. On the abolition of the seat of Leichhardt in 1962 he was elected MLA for Drummoyne. Coady retired from parliament in 1982 and was followed in the seat of Drummoyne by ALP member Michael Maher.
