    Drawings - loose glass panel sits over the watercolour, within the case ; 10 x 9 cm. - satin lining has runs in places - 1 watercolour on ivory, in maroon timber case, satin lined with hinged lid and 2 clasp hooks
  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Simeon Lord, entrepreneur and pastoralist, was transported to Sydney from England in 1791. Emancipated early, Lord initially traded and imported cargo. Lord expanded his mercantile holdings and wealth by exporting oil and sealskins to England. He acquired large land grants that included the Dobroyd estate, Ashfield, Sydney.
