  Ella Russell, an American soprano, sang at Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera House. In Australia she sang Marguerite in Faust, Senta in The Flying Dutchman, Elsa in Lohengrin, Elisabeth in Tannhauser and Leonora in Il trovatore (1900-1901).
