    Undated.
    The profile of this medallion appears to be modelled from images created by James Tassie and is different to the Flaxman portraits.
    Several paper labels affixed to the reverse of the frame:
    "[Wedgwood motif] / Old Wedgwood. / XVIIIth Century Art. / F. Rathbone" -- printed.
    "20, Alfred Place West, (near Museum), / South Kensington, London, S.W." -- printed
    "Sir Joseph Banks. K.B. / 1743-1820 / Original portrait in wax modelled by James Tassie 1785. Bought from the Executors" -- handwritten in black ink.
    "H / 229" on ink on circular shaped label that refers to number assigned by the Australian Museum.
