The National Herbalists Association of New South Wales was incorporated in 1920, and became the National Herbalists Association of Australia in 1952.

It is the only national professional body of medical herbalists in the country, and is the oldest complementary medicine association in Australia. Its aims include the promotion and encouragement of the practice of medical herbalism.
