Marie Byles (1900-1979), solicitor and conservationist, was a member of the Sydney Bush Walkers and a regular contributor to the Bushwalker. She was instrumental in the successful campaign to establish Bouddi National Park.
Scope and Content
The collection includes draft and published articles by Marie Byles concerning the wreck of the paddlesteamer Maitland in 1898, Maitland Bay and Bouddi National Park. In addition there are articles by Bill Baverstock and Alan Fairley and a copy of a letter from Byles to Fairley.
