  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Born in 1905 near Tamworth, Huldah Mary Turner attended Sydney University from 1923-1928 and became a high school teacher, working in schools throughout New South Wales. In 1951 she went to Newcastle Teachers' College as Head of the English Department, later becoming Vice-Principal and acting Principal in 1956. She retired in 1967. Between May and December 1972 she travelled around mainland Australia, making many side trips into the interior, and Tasmania. In their Volkswagen Kombi-van she and her husband Joseph covered 25,000 miles
