    `The "Glatton", 758 tons, was one of the ships of the United East India company's fleet. This was her second voyage to China, sailing from Portsmouth on 3 June, 1780, and arriving back in the Downs on 31 March, 1782. Charles Christie was the fourth officer during this voyage. The vessel made her third trip to the East in 1783-6 with Charles Christie as second officer.' -- Maggs Bros. Ltd catalogue no 654, 1938
  • Scope and Content
    Title page contains a watercolour sketch of the United East India Co. ship Glatton. The album includes coastal views and harbour charts mainly of the Dutch East Indies, particularly Sumbaya in the Sunda Islands, the Celebes, Molucca Islands and Pitts Passage, the Southern Natuna Islands and Billiton Island, with a plan of Padang in Sumatra, also a view of the North Coast of New Guinea.
