Untitled, unsigned and undated. Title, date and attribution from British Library India Office Select Materials catalogue, shelfmark P848.
Item 530 in the catalogue of the library of J.R. Abbey includes an additional plate with an engraved title and imprint, matching the title and imprint cited in the British Library India Office catalogue, shelfmark P848. No artist or date is cited by Abbey.
The J.R. Abbey library's set of these prints is laid down in album form, with "no evidence whether it originally formed one long panorama, or whether a set of strips as listed" (Abbey, J.R., Life in England ..., item 530, p.392). In the set acquired by the Mitchell Library, a residue of water soluble tape on the reverse at each end of the prints is evidence that the works were once joined (remarks by Senior Conservator, 2006).
An 1850 edition of the lithographs is catalogued in the British Library (shelfmark X 263)
