Robert Campbell (1769-1846) arrived in Sydney in 1798 where he built a wharf and warehouses at Dawes Point. He was a partner in Campbell & Co. with his brother who was based in Calcutta. John Campbell (1802-1886) was his eldest son; Robert Campbell (1804-1846) was his second son.

1819; School exercise book of Robert Campbell (1804-1859). Exercises in mathematics written in exercise book with title page inscribed 'John Campbell, March, 1819'. Inside the back cover is the pencil draft of a letter from Robert Campbell (1769-1846) to Paxton, Cockerell, Traill & Co. The final version of the letter, 18 July 1819, is included in the letterbook which is item 3 of this collection. (Call No.: CY 2219, frames 174-219 : B 1348 item 2)
