- Scope and ContentThe content of the sketchbook depicts views of a variety of locations beginning with Gloucestershire (Birdlip Hill) and Randcomb Park (seat of Sir William Guise Bart). Following this are sketches of Hampstead to Paddington, then several sketches of Ullswater dated 1815 with a few of Chester and Penrith.
Next are sketches of Hawswater, Helvellyn and Windermere in 1816 showing the chronology is consistent with the sketch numbering. The final two views are of Mt Blanc one dated Aug. 1814 and one drawn on the same bifolio as a view of Ullswater consistent with Glover’s first trip to France. These two if following the sketch numbering appear to have been turned backwards in relation to the rest of the sketchbook.

- General note
The page numbering suggests that the sketchbook had lost its covers before being numbered. It also suggests that Glover used the book in its coverless state, reversing it which places the French works on their own at the back. The French works are possibly part of a larger group, now missing. There are no original covers, therefore no original sketchbook number or cover inscriptions.
