The firm of Andrew Sneddon, colliery proprietor and steamship owner, traded in coal, wood and coke. It was situated in Engine Street, Haymarket, Darling Harbour and also operated from Newcastle and South Clifton Fuel Yard. - Scope and ContentThis ledger consists of the accounts of individuals and businesses in Sydney who purchased goods, mainly coal and wood, from Andrew Sneddon. An incomplete and roughly alphabetical index of customers is located at the front of the ledger. An account rendered to G. People, 76 George Street, Waterloo, that had been returned bearing a note from the debtor is loosely enclosed with the latter's ledger entry on page 615.
