    68 drawings and prints - various sizes - engravings, pencil, some coloured
  • Scope and Content
    16 folios onto which are tipped copies on tracing paper of illustrations of Australian Aborigines and their weapons, geographical profiles in New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria, and two coloured drawings of Victorian Aborigines.
    These are mostly titled and dated.
    Many are from Sir T. L. Mitchell's Tropical Australia.

    13 folios of prints taken from S. Gill and E. von Guerard mainly of Australian Aborigines.

    Miscellaneous prints, ca. 1857-1858, mainly engravings by F. Grosse and N. Chevalier after E. von Guerard, and a pencil drawing of Australian Aborigines.

    The prints are cut from 'Newsletter of Australiana' and 'Illustrated Melbourne News'.

    The coloured drawings are entitled 'Eingeborene von Victoria Port Philip, Melbourne, 20 January 1855', and 'Eingeborene v New South Wales'

    The pencil drawing is entitled 'Schwarze von Victoria in Trauer'.
