Thirty five of the sketches are signed and dated between 1950 and 1971. All are titled. The volume is titled as above on the cover and on the title page. Also on the title page is a quotation on the Hawkesbury River by Anthony Trollope in 1872, from his 'Australia and New Zealand', London, Chapman and Hall, 1873, p. 323.
