Sketchbook is signed in ink 'Captain Geo. [i.e. George] A. Halsted Royal Navy' at top opposite page one. Two sketches are dated 42', '42 1/2' and 'Aug. '43'. Nineteen are titled. Sketches are of sailing ships including H.M.S. Asia off the coast of England presumably made during the artists' employment in the service of the Coast Guard. Also included are views of English coastal towns, and figure studies.
