The drawings of builders, tradesmen and labourers at work, were commissioned by the joint venture builders of Gold Fields' House, Mainline-Dillingham-Hounstrup in 1965, to document the various phases of the building project. The building owned by Consolidated Gold Fields (Australia) Pty. Ltd. was designed by Peddle, Thorp and Walker, architects (see Architechture Today, March 1967).

Numbers 5 and 7 were reproduced as item numbers 86 and 88 in Australia at work & play: 2 February - 9 March 1991, Josef Lebovic Gallery (catalogue), Paddington, N.S.W : Josef Lebovic Gallery 1991.
