    Royal prerogative: a cartoon depicting S-R C-S H-M (i.e. Sir Charles Hotham), bound with ropes 'manufactured in Downing Street', being threatened by S-R W-M D-N (i.e. Sir William Denison) with a pistol marked 'Royal Prerogative'. It apparently refers to the opposition of the British Government and Sir W. Denison to the 'Convicts Prevention Act' of the Legislative Council of Victoria, 1854-1855
