  • Scope and Content
    R 1036
    Hinged sterling silver snuff box, with scalloped edges, engraved on the sides with a foliate pattern, and on the cover and base with foliate borders and geometrically decorated horizontal stripes. On the cover is inscribed ‘Presented by the Committee of the Lang Testimonial Fund to Donald MacPherson, their Honorary Secretary, Sydney, N.S.W., May 1854.’ On the inside cover are stamped the head of Queen Victoria, ‘H&T’, and a lion rampant. On the inside base are stamped ‘D’ (i.e. 1852), ‘H&T’ (i.e. Hilliard & Thomason) and a shield with an anchor (i.e. Birmingham) on it.

    Postcard ca. WW I with pouch embroidered ‘Souvenir de Belgique’, containing a small printed card with ‘Yours Always’. On the back of the postcard is a message from Jim to Daphne.
