    Describes preaching and other missionary duties including travel between Australia and New Zealand for new appointments. Includes departure from Sydney on the Patriot for Hokianga, New Zealand on 10 Apr. 1836 and arrival on 23 Apr. 1836. He describes trips to the Bay of Islands, an attack on missionaries by Maori at Mangamuka and consequent battles between Maori tribes, his departure from New Zealand 24 Aug. 1939 on the Spaight and arrival in Sydney Cove 11 Sept. 1839, his departure from Sydney on 3 Nov. 1839 on the Lord Glenelg and arrival in Hobart Town on 10 Nov. 1839. He returned to Sydney to take up a new appointment in Sept. 1846
