    Obverse: Profile of Queen Victoria. Legend: Victoria Queen MDCCCLIII.
    Reverse: Coat of arms; the shield is as the New South Wales coat of arms, but is supported by an emu and a kangaroo, and surmounted by a rising sun. The scroll beneath does not bear a motto. Legend: Cessation of transportation 1853 Tasmania founded 1803.
