  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Rev. John Waterhouse (d.1842) was a prominent Yorkshire Methodist. In 1838 he was appointed general superintendent of the Wesleyan Methodist Mission in Australia and Polynesia with a roving commission. With his wife, Jane Beadnell, née Skipsey, seven sons and three daughters, he reached Hobart Town in the 'James' on 1 February 1839.
