  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Joseph Henry Hogan, bootmaker of Cobar, New South Wales, was born in Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted at Casula aged 21 years, 23 Nov. 1915 and embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A71 Nestor, 9 April 1916. He served with the 20th Battalion, 11th Reinforcement in France, where he received the Military Medal for bravery under fire at Lagnicourt, 15 Apr. 1917. He was wounded in action, 7 Apr. 1918 and 3 Oct. 1918 and invalided to England. He returned to Australia on HT Mamari, 21 Dec. 1918
