    Publisher J. S. Prout and Co. Australian Lithographic Establishment was located in O'Connell Street, Sydney in 1842.

    The following information is written in pencil on the sides of, and beneath, the view:

    (a) 'This is the original plate, Same as in Dawsons Copy';

    (b) 'Signature different in Plate Potters Copy' (compared with DL Pe 145);

    (c) 'This is not so strong as one in the book' (compared with DL Pe 144);

    (d) 'View taken from the gate of "Derby Lodge", the residence of M. W. Lewis Esq Coln Architect, one of the piers of this gate is represented on the right of the picture';

    (e) A sketch of a hand pointing to the right of the picture is followed by: 'Now? Mount Adelaide residence of Thoms. Mort Esq., demolished and now the mansion of S. Hordern'.

    All these notes appear to be in the hand of R. T. Carter.
