  • General note

Title in brush point at lower centre

This table top with two others (see under Terry, Frederick Charles, after) belongs to a genre in vogue between the 1840's and the 1870's. It was probably manufactured in England and the oil painting added in Australia, either on to a blank space or onto an earlier painting, now obliterated.

  • Signatures / Inscriptions

    Unsigned
  • Attributions / conjectures

The painting is probably a copy of F.C. Terry's lithograph 'Sydney from Milson's Point', No. 18 in his 'Landscape Scenery' [Australian Keepsake 1855], Sydney, Sands & Kenny, 1855, but is unlikely to be Terry's work. Dated from publication date
