• ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
  
  Griffith Morris Jones, a British born seaman and farmer of Lifton Park, Canowindra, New South Wales, enlisted at the age of 24, on 3 January 1916 and embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A15 Star Of England on 8 March 1916. He served as a private with the 13th Battalion 15th reinforcement and the 45th Battalion, in Gallipoli and France, where he was wounded. He returned to Australia 20 December 1918. After World War I he lived in Sydney with his family until he died in 1970.
