    1. Annotated scrapbook of newscuttings from The Sydney Morning Herald, ca. 1846-1861. Many of the newscuttings are by 'A Man, near Windsor' [probably John Larking Scarvell] regarding the transportation of convicts, drunkeness, railroads, and criminal law. The scrapbook also contains articles and letters by John Larking Scarvell; clippings about the Scarvell family; a sketch of a door and a list of materials and prices; and a list of materials and prices for cedar alterations at Clare House.

    2. Four newscuttings from The Sydney Morning Herald, ca. 1857, 1932, and 1941, including two newscuttings about the discovery of a petition by colonists for the cessation of convict transportation which was presented to the Mitchell Library in 1932.

    3. Letter from J.L. Scarvell, Clare House, to Thacker, Daniel & Co., 30 July 1860, regarding the insurance of four cottages situated off George Street, Brickfield Hill, between George and Sussex Streets South, near Goulburn Street, Sydney.
