Bags shown were loaded on the "Southern Cross" plane at Richmond, N.S.W. on 14/5/1935....Owing to a broken propeller the plane ["Southern Cross"] after travelling 560 miles toward New Zealand was compelled to return to Sydney. Fourteen bags of mail weighing 373 lbs were thrown overboard. Seven bags weighing 25 lbs were brought back to Sydney...[continues with details of bags returned and lost]
