Dr W. Wood, 1882-1974, studied medicine and came to New South Wales in 1912. During the First World War he served with the A.I.F. in Egypt and Palestine. From 1930 he practiced in Macquarie Street, Sydney. He was the first Commanding Officer of the 113 Australian General Hospital, later Concord Military Hospital in 1940 - Description source
