  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    William Watson, 1793-1866, was appointed by the Church Missionary Society to establish a mission station for Aborigines at Wellington Valley, New South Wales. After eight years the Society withdrew its upport his work and Watson took up some land on lease at nearby Apsley so that he could continue his own mission. He also carried out pastoral duties among the white settlers.
