Entries from 29 January 1937-18 December 1857 could be written by Marlay, cf. handwritting in *D 338

Entries for 28 May 1834-22 February 1836 are records of clothes and provisions issued only. From 23 February 1836 the diary gives more information relating to the activity on the station, recording sales and purchases. Handwriting changes at 29 January 1837 entry. Entries are not from day to day. Include shearers' and washers' accounts and purchases of land

Entry for 1 March 1856 shows agreement with Edward Marlay to manage station while Bettington in England. Handwriting changes again at 18 December 1857 entry, and changes after this date. Entries for 30 March 1861-23 August 1862 consist of accounts paid only. Records of clocks, blankets etc. issued, April-November 1836 follow, then accounts paid 23 August-31 December 1862. At end of volume is a record of blacksmith's work done by hired and assigned servants, December 1835-May 1837
