    Transferred from the Lands Department in 1921 and bears the Catalogue number S6 1267.

    The map is reproduced in Bakers' Australian Atlas with the title 'Darling Downs, New England, Clarence...from the map purchased...from William Gardner'. The description is of the districts of New England, Liverpool Plains, Darling Downs, Moreton Bay, Clarence and Brisbane County. Lists of settlers and stations are given for each district

    Inserted at the beginning are a letter from the Lands Department to the Mitchell Librarian after the transfer describing the Department's acquisition of the map (still in the Department 1956) and of the description, and copies of old correspondence referring to a second copy of the map and description which were not purchased by the Department
