    F. M. Monk, 1829-1923, was born in Buckinghamshire, England. She sailed for India in 1849 where she married William Monk. They settled in New South Wales in ca. 1853. She died in 1923 at the home of her nephew Bernard Cecil Monk, son-in-law of Anne Hale Chapman
