    1. Typewritten account of chartist meetings in London
    The typed account is written in the first person. Inside cover it has, in Henry Richard Nicholl's son's writing 'From the diary of Henry Nicholls'. Donor (H. R. Nicholls granddaughter) did not know whether the reminiscences were written by her grandfather from his own diary or written by her father based on the diary. Part of a diary of H. R. Nicholls was published in the Hobart Mercury of which he was later editor

    2. Diary of voyage to Melbourne, 6 June-24 October 1853
    The original diary is of the voyage out calling at Cape de Verde Island and Cape Town, the ship's and captain's names are not given but the ship is possibly the Emalie which is listed in the Sydney Morning Herald as having arrived from Cape Town to Melbourne 25 October. A poem dated 6 February is written in at the end
