    G. H. Nobbs, 1799-1884, arrived at Pitcairn Island in 1828, where he became teacher, and
    conducted religious services. He went to England and was ordained by the Anglican Church in 1852, returning to Pitcairn in 1853. Nobbs accompanied the Pitcairn Islanders in 1856 and lived there until his death. He married Sarah Christian, granddaughter of Fletcher Christian, in 1829 and they had ten children
