Leo Susman was born in Germany in 1832. He went to Australia in 1853, settling in Hobart in 1854 where he established himself in business as a merchant. He married in 1855, had ten children, one of whom, Maurice, he took into business partnership with him in 1897. Both Leo and Maurice were active Freemasons - Scope and ContentIncludes three certificates issued by various Tasmanian Lodges
