  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Gregory Blaxland, who arrived in the Colony in 1806, established a vineyard and, with Lawson and Wentworth, discovered the first road over the Blue Mountains. His brother John, arriving in 1807, established woollen mills, a brewery, a dairy, and his salt pans at Newington supplied the Colony for some years.
