    These items were loose inside 'Journal of the proceedings of His Majesty's ship Resolution, James Cook Esq. Commander, by George Gilbert, commencing 9 April 1776 and ending 29 Nov. 1779. Located at DLMS 94.

    The letters seem to refer to DLMS 94, despite Christopher Kreeft's reference to 'Phillips'.
  • Scope and Content
    1. Christopher Kreeft, 9 Billiter Square to J.E. Taylor of Red Lion Court. Autograph letter signed re Molesworth Phillip's manuscript of Captain Cooke's last voyage; that he doesn't think it has anything about California, that he has Cook's powder horn and Phillip's gun, that the manuscript was sent up to the Admiralty on the arrival of the Vessel and returned with other officers' private accounts after the official publication of the Voyage. With envelope. Dated 4 April 1849.

    2. Thomas H.M. Poulton to Sir William James Lloyd Wharton. List of names of persons appearing on the books of the Discovery as having transferred from Resolution after the death of Captain Clerke. (Probably enclosure to 3.) Dated 22 November 1888.

    3. Sir William James Lloyd Wharton to Grame? Grand. Autograph letter signed returning the journal; with the results of his attempt to identify the author, whom he thinks must have been one of the midshipmen who transferred to Discovery on Clerke's death. Dated 24 November 1888.
