    Dating: [between 1833 and 1842]: watermark "J. Whatman 1833" suggests an earliest date, and the date 1842 is on the sheet but has been erased.
    Location: Alexander Maconochie was Superintendent of the Penal Colony at Norfolk Island from 1840-1844 [Australian Dictionary of Biography Online]. With the plans showing a date of 1842 it is likely these plans are for Norfolk Island.
