Edward Spain served in H.M.S. Europe, 1783-1784, under Captain Arthur Phillip whom he criticises. Spain writes an extended commentary on Henry Brewer, Phillip's clerk and a Midshipman, who was appointed Provost Marshall in New South Wales. - Collection historyPresented to Richard James Yeldon by Annie Abigail Hadfield on 6 April, 1893. Edward Spain was the Great Grandfather of Richard Yeldham.
