    In 1801 Governor Philip Gidley King, at the request of the Governor General of India, emended part regulations to require ships' bonds to be entered into by departing vessels to prevent the landing of ex-convicts from Australia in the East India Company's settlements and in China.

    On the bonds the brig's name is misspelt Dutchess of York
